Small changes
big opportunities

Underwear is only one small part of supporting children who struggle with the many consequences of poverty. 7 pairs of new underwear can increase regular school attendance and boost self-esteem for the neediest among us.

Homeless Department

Houston, Fort Bend, and Lamar Consolidated public school districts support students enrolled in the federally mandated homeless department. Most of the students are “couch surfing”, many fewer students live in shelters with their families. The department makes sure these children attend their home schools, assuring continuity in their education. The department also provides basic needs, including UFE underwear.

Child Protective Services

Child Protective Services (CPS) located in Houston is a branch of Texas’ social services department responsible for cases of child abuse and neglect. Children found to live in dangerous situations are removed at a moment’s notice and often leave without any belongings. An assigned social worker takes each child “shopping” in a room stocked with basic needs where they receive UFE underwear.

Pediatric Mobile Unit

Houston is fortunate to have mobile health units sponsored by Texas Children’s Hospital, providing immunizations, physicals, and other services for families in underserved communities. Medical staff reports that 90% of patients are not wearing underwear, a statistic that led to UFE stocking the units with underwear.

Food Bank

The Houston Food Bank doesn’t just give food to families! It has a program that provides 7 pairs of UFE underwear to qualifying children in need.

Undies for Change

A new way to volunteer!

Undies for Change is a fee-based volunteer opportunity. UFE sends your group underwear, supplies and instructions to make perfect packs of 7 pairs that you deliver to a pre-identified local children’s agency.

Undies for Change makes it easy roll, pack and deliver undies for local kids. It’s a great opportunity for corporations, organizations, and schools to make a big difference in a child’s life.
