UFE Celebrates 10-Year Anniversary with Bingo and Briefs Fundraiser on October 23
Houston, TX, Feb 10, 2022 – Undies for Everyone (UFE) today announced it will honor Board Member Cyndy Garza-Roberts, who just announced her retirement from Comcast, for her distinguished career and impact on the community during the organization’s upcoming Bingo and Briefs fundraiser on October 23. Celebrating its 10-year anniversary as the nation’s only nonprofit to exclusively provide new underwear to underserved children, UFE has provided more than 2 million pairs of underwear to children in 16 cities across the U.S. since launching in 2012.
“Throughout her incredible career, Cyndy has led with purpose and compassionate vision, both in the corporate world and within her community,” said Rabbi Amy Weiss, founder and executive director of UFE. “Cyndy is a pioneer and visionary and has used her voice to build up her Houston community and advance the greater good throughout her impactful decades-long career. We congratulate Cyndy on her retirement and look forward to honoring her in person at UFE’s Bingo and Briefs this October.”
Cyndy Garza-Roberts ranks among the best and strongest voices within the Houston Hispanic community. She served as Director of Community Impact at Comcast – Houston Region, where she was responsible for the company’s community relations and philanthropic giving. Cyndy is a Director and Lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and is a member of the Corporate Development, International, and Trail Ride committees. In addition to serving on the UFE board, she also serves on the Board of Directors for Latin Women’s Initiative, Houston Civic Events, Inc., Legacy Community Health Clinic, the YMCA of Greater Houston, and Hermann Park Conservancy. She is a past board President of the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce and is a member of Amigas Para Niños.
Undies for Everyone’s Bingo and Briefs fundraiser is scheduled for October 23 at the SPJST Lodge 88 in the Heights. Individual tickets for the event are on sale and sponsorship opportunities are available. For more information, contact Amy Weiss at aweiss@undiesforeveryone.org.
